During the seven-day period from September 16 to September 22, 2024:

  • SoundThinking published 950 ShotSpotter gunfire alerts for CPD, totaling 4,203 rounds fired.  
  • This number of alerts represents a decrease of 7.1% compared to the week before.
  • ShotSpotter’s average alert response time was 25 seconds from the time of first round fired, to the time of alert publication.
  • SoundThinking sent 58 ShotSpotter alerts tagged as likely coming from a fully automatic weapon.
  • The 20th Ward experienced the highest volume of gunfire (measured by round count) with 54 ShotSpotter Alerts totaling 330 rounds fired.
  • The 20th Ward also experienced the highest volume of Full Auto weapons fire (measured by round count) with 3 Full Auto ShotSpotter Alerts totaling 71 rounds fired.
