During the seven-day period of August 26 – September 1, 2024:

  • SoundThinking sent 717 ShotSpotter alerts to CPD, totaling 3,346 rounds fired.  
  • This number of alerts represents a decrease of 10.8% compared to the week before.
  • ShotSpotter’s average alert response time was 23 seconds from the time of first round fired, to the time of alert publication.
  • SoundThinking sent 47 ShotSpotter alerts tagged as likely coming from a fully automatic weapon.
  • The 15th Ward experienced the highest volume of gunfire (measured by round count) with 39 ShotSpotter Alerts totaling 326 rounds fired.
  • The 37th Ward experienced the highest volume of Full Auto weapons fire (measured by round count) with 4 Full Auto ShotSpotter Alerts totaling 60 rounds fired.
