A new analysis spanning January 2023-August 31, 2024 (including a specific focus on the July 4thweekend) reveals:
- ShotSpotter alerts CPD to 1,979 shooting victims in the last 19 months
- 91 of these shooting victims had no one calling 911
- 91 victims of gunfire that at least had a chance for survival because of ShotSpotter
And, for the first eight months of 2024:
- ShotSpotter helped officers arrive at the scene of the shootings almost 2.5 minutes faster than 911.
- ShotSpotter helped officers collect almost 30,000 shell casings with almost 5,000 of those investigative leads coming from incidents where no one called 911.
- ShotSpotter helped officers recover 470 weapons with 88 of those weapons coming from incidents where no one called 911.
- ShotSpotter helped officers make 451 arrests, with 91 of those arrests coming from incidents where no one called 911.
- ShotSpotter is performing at a 99+% accuracy
